Black & White Saturday Night.

Dress: Kimberly Ovitz  |  Handbag: Vintage (thrifted)  |  Heels: Jimmy Choo

Most of you know that Hubs and I live in a Jonathan Segal unit on the edge of downtown San Diego. I've talked about Jonathan Segal's brilliant architect work before, but last night we popped next door to congratulate and support his daughter, Brittany Segal, on her first art show. We watched people coming and going for the last couple of weeks helping Brittany transform her place in to a gorgeous art gallery for her big night. Her work is fresh, modern and when you look closely you will see that it's all in the details. I love her color palate and the passion and detail of her work. Some pieces are smooth and glossy, while others have more texture and are framed with beautiful brushed gold modern vintage frames. I know how much blood, sweat and tears go in to pursuing a dream and we are proud to support a neighbor/friend turning her passion in to a career. She is truly an artist. Check out her work and order your favorite pieces hereCheers to you Brittany!

Saturday Simplicity.

Turtleneck: Thrifted  |  Jeans: Gap  |  Jacket: Found at Buffalo Exchange  |  Heels: Nine West
Shades: F21  |  Handbag: Alexander Wang

Today I made a trip to the mall to shop for a few work wardrobe staples. It has been a while since I have worked in an office and somehow I didn't have a basic black pencil skirt or black dress pants (since sequins, leather and polka dots don't count as basic). I found my way to Ann Taylor and re-connected. I forgot how fabulous this store is! Plus Kate Hudson is the poster girl and I love her. Everything I tried on in Ann Taylor was great quality, classic and fit like a glove. Did I mention the dressing rooms were fab? Great lighting, plush seating and a color palate of grey, silver and cream. The best part is that most pieces are not only great for work but also for mixing in with play clothes. Ann Taylor makes me feel chic, lady like and all grown up.

I like to be comfortable but still put together when I go to the mall. My favorite uniform is all black and a touch of leopard never hurts. :) I am so excited that it finally cooled down enough to pull on a cozy turtleneck and wear a little coat. Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend!

Fall Floral.

Blouse: Prabul Gurung for Target | Blazer: Truth & Pride | Pants: Paige Black Label
Heels: Ralph Lauren (thrifted) | Bangle: LFR DesignsHandbag: Alexander Wang

I recently transitioned from working in an upscale women's boutique to an office. The best part (besides working 9-5, having weekends and holidays off, and a fun group of co-workers) has been being able to wear heels everyday! When I was on my feet nine hours a day I just couldn't do it, but now I can rock heels seven days a week if I want to. :)

This floral blouse is one of my favorites and I love that I found it on clearance at Target after the Prabal Gurung launch. Major score! A printed sleeveless blouse is a wardrobe staple. It's easy to layer under anything (like the blazer I paired with it today) but you can also wear it without a layer in the warmer weather and it is still professional. A while back I posted it tied up in the front with a pleated faux leather skirt. Super fun! Try pairing with a leather jacket, ripped skinnies and a bright pair of heels for a night out. If you are looking for a fabulous blouse check out the line Equipment. They always get it right!

Date Night.

Dress: H&M / Sweater: H&M / Booties: BCBG Girls / Scarf: Gifted / Clutch: Henry Bendel

Yesterday afternoon my husband called to say he wanted to pick me up for dinner to celebrate my new job. I was having a relaxing afternoon so I kept it going by taking a nice bath to freshen up. Then I lit a candle, put on Frank Sinatra, and cozied up in my robe to play with my eye makeup. Okay, I have to admit I also sipped bubbly straight out of the bottle but don't judge me...it was already open from Sunday mimosa's. I couldn't let it go flat!

I love a comfy yet sexy outfit for a casual date night. In one glance it says low maintenance, approachable, confident and sexy which men love.  I am lucky to have a husband that doesn't think that skin tight is the only sexy. He loves that I switch it up. Let's be honest, most of us women don't feel like putting on a body con dress every time we go out to dinner. Some nights I'm ready to rock it and other nights I prefer to just show leg. Last night it was perfect since we ended up in a cozy corner booth at our favorite sushi spot (Harney Sushi in Old Town). Cheers to cozy date nights!
